Chardham Yatra Package from Delhi — Because Some Journeys Are More Than Just Travel

Yamunotri · Gangotri · Kedarnath · Badrinath

There’s a reason your parents or grandparents have been talking about Chardham Yatra their whole lives. It’s not just a trip — it’s something you carry with you long after you come back. The four sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath sit high in the Uttarakhand Himalayas, and every year, thousands of families from Delhi make this journey together. Some go to fulfil a lifelong wish. Some go because an elder in the family finally said, “This year, we’re doing it.”

Whatever your reason, First Fly Holiday is here to make sure the journey goes smoothly — so your family can focus on the part that actually matters.

The Four Dhams — A Quick Look at What Awaits You

You’ll visit the dhams in a specific order, and each one has its own personality.

Yamunotri is where the Yamuna river begins — tucked away at over 3,200 metres. There’s a hot spring called Surya Kund where pilgrims cook prasad rice in the boiling water, which is just one of those things you have to see to believe. The trek up is about 6 km from Janki Chatti, and honestly, most people find it manageable with a few short breaks.

Gangotri is the origin of the Ganga, and the setting alone is worth the journey — thick deodar forests, the roar of the river, glacier views in the distance. The temple itself sits at over 3,400 metres and the air feels different here. Cleaner. Quieter.

Kedarnath is the one everyone talks about. One of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, perched at nearly 3,600 metres, with a backdrop of snow-covered peaks that feels unreal. The 18 km trek from Gaurikund is the most challenging part of the entire yatra — but for those who can’t trek, helicopters are available. Either way, the moment you see that ancient stone temple, it makes sense why people cry.

Badrinath is the final dham, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The golden-spired temple beside the Alaknanda river, framed by the Neelkanth peak behind it — this is the image most people carry home. It’s a fitting end to the circuit.

How Long Does It Take and What’s Covered?

Most families do the full Chardham circuit in 10 to 14 days from Delhi, depending on how leisurely you want the pace to be. If there are elderly members in your group, we always recommend the 12–14 day version — more rest time, less rush.

What we include in our packages:

  • A proper AC tempo traveller or SUV — not some random vehicle, but one our drivers actually know on mountain roads
  • Accommodation near the temple gates, so you’re not doing long walks after a full day
  • All tolls, permits, and driver allowances taken care of
  • Help arranging darshan timings and puja bookings at each dham
  • A flexible itinerary — because mountain travel doesn’t always go exactly to plan, and that’s okay

When Should You Go?

The temples follow their own calendar — they open in late April or May and close around Diwali in October or November.

The sweet spots are May to mid-June and September to October. Weather is pleasant, roads are clear, and the mountains are gorgeous. Monsoon (July–August) is honestly best avoided if you have elderly travellers — the roads can get tricky and delays are common.

You can book our tempo travellers the 12-seater and the 16-seater that are mostly booked for Chardham Tours.

Why Families from Delhi Book With Us

We’re not a call centre or an OTA. We’re a Delhi-based travel team that has been running Uttarakhand routes for years, and we know this terrain.

A few things that matter when you’re travelling with family on mountain roads:

  • Our drivers know the Garhwal hills — not just the highway, but the actual roads up to each dham
  • Our 12-seater and 16-seater tempo travellers are chosen specifically for the suspension and seat comfort on long stretches
  • We respect that this is a pilgrimage — we don’t try to squeeze in tourist stops or rush your darshan
  • No surprise costs. One price, clearly explained upfront
  • We’re reachable on WhatsApp throughout the trip, not just before departure

A Few Questions We Get Asked a Lot

Can elderly family members do the Chardham Yatra? Yes — and many of our groups include pilgrims in their 60s and 70s who complete all four dhams. We plan with enough buffer days for rest, book accommodation as close to temple entrances as possible, and arrange helicopter options for Kedarnath if trekking isn’t advisable. Age is rarely a barrier with the right planning.

How many people can fit in one vehicle? Our 12-seater and 16-seater AC tempo travellers comfortably fit families of 8 to 14 with luggage. Smaller groups usually go with a 7-seater Innova Crysta or Fortuner. We’ll suggest the right vehicle once we know your group size.

What does the package cost? It depends on your group size, how many days, and what kind of accommodation you want. We offer budget, standard, and comfort tiers. Just WhatsApp us your details and we’ll send a quote the same day — no forms, no waiting.

Can you help with the Kedarnath helicopter? Yes. Helicopter slots from Phata, Sirsi, or Guptkashi fill up fast during peak season. If anyone in your group needs the helicopter option, tell us early and we’ll coordinate the booking. Don’t leave it for the last minute.
